Will be difficult to repeal the gun law. But for me it's the type of gun you can buy. Serious hard ware. That's what they need to stop.

Re: Guns in America
My mates got a gun pulled on them by a bloke who owned a pawn shop in Vegas, for ripping the piss out of him (he was an odd looking fella). Told them to stop foolin' around, or he'd shoot.

I'd have definitely been shot if I was there that day. The bloke looked like Englebert Humperdinck.

Re: Guns in America
Haha perhaps they should change the target to a picture of a black man sat in a car that you have to shoot from 3 foot away. Bonus points if you snare the child as well.

With all these guns in America you'd think they'd win a few medals at the Olympics but no, it's always a Brit or a Swede or a bloke from somewhere.

That's because the Olympic shooing disciplines involve stationary targets, or moving clay discs, rather than simulated shooting children in schools, type events.

True.

Re: Guns in America
Official estimates say America has 265m guns. More than 1 per adult. Apparently though, only 3% of Americans own half of those guns which means there are some big arsenals out there.

It's mostly white or mixed race Americans that have guns for protection but over 35,000 people a year die from firearms so it should be a big concern really. But frankly, it's America's problem and WHO will not solve this one...

I would have thought (if they had the will to do it), that introducing more stringent gun laws, and probably more importantly, tough ammunition laws would have a significant effect fairly quickly on the availability of usable weapons within the US?

I'm sure genuine bad guys would still be able to get what they need for some time, but it might help reduce the accidents that happen because a toddler gets hold of a loaded gun that the owner bought over the counter, or a teenager that shoots someone by mistake trying to play the big man?

Re: Guns in America
Trump made a point during his Presidential campaign that I thought was interesting. If you change the law today, there will still be millions more guns in America than people for years to come...

I wouldn't trust most people with being in charge of a hamster let alone random people carrying guns around.
You always thought with some minor disputes people got a smack in the mouth.
These days it appears that it becomes a knife stuck in them.
Next step would be someone DISRESPECTS you and gets a bullet in them.

Always the stories of some kid in the car on the way to WALMART who finds the gun in Mum's handbag and blows her head off.

When those Newham education idiots started stabbing pretty girls in the back at London Bridge I went onto Liveleak to see if I could find any more footage of the attack.

Have you ever read the comments section on Liveleak? It makes this forum look like University Challenge.

One soapy septic says 'and you faggot Brits go on about US gun laws? If you gays were armed you could have taken them raghead bitches down'.

It was totally lost on him that the only reason they were stabbing people and not shooting them was because they couldn't fucking GET guns. Nobody who supplies illegal guns is going to let a religious nutcase have one. They know the police will never stop chasing them until they get life in prison.

With all these guns in America you'd think they'd win a few medals at the Olympics but no, it's always a Brit or a Swede or a bloke from somewhere.

Police needs guns because people have guns in the States, very simple.

I don't agree or disagree with the gun laws, just accept it.

I used sell guns instruct in shooting years ago

90% of people are fine, but there is always a complete raving lunatic element who go all weird once they have a firearm in their hands.

I seen some really scary shit with lads totally unsafe and borderline losing it with a gun in their hands.

I be honest if guns were freely available in this country I'd have one all day long.... all fucking day long.... lot less clutter than the various knives and Ice picks I have around the house.... just a shame the 1918 US naval sword I had in the bedroom got confiscated... I liked that

Re: Guns in America

I was in Jackson in Wyoming last September, walking thru the busy main street at about 11am to get a coffee etc

I walk past a big parked SUV with no one in it but the passenger window is open about 8 inches

Sitting up on the passenger seat is an assault rifle with scope. Fucking broad daylight totally unsecured.

Went and got my coffee, talking back the same way about 40 minutes later and all still there in plain view just waiting for someone to reach in the window and go all First Blood with it.

Was in Chicago as well and went into a nice pizza restaurant, went down the back to the bathrooms, walked right past a guy sitting with his wife and two kids eating pizza. He has a 9mm beretta clipped to his belt !

Fucking insane country
